Year 2

Welcome to Year 2!

Class Teacher Mrs. Jones, Learning Support Officer Mrs Milton.

Welcome to the Year 2 Class Page.  Here you can keep up to date with all of the fabulous things we have been getting up to in class.  Check this page for news, information and updates about what will be happening over this term.

After half term we will be learning about fractions.  This game is good to look at to get you thinking about them:

There are also some downloads for you to try if you have access to a printer:

On Thursday 16th February we celebrated our learning in History by holding a ‘Florence Nightingale Day.’  We all came to school dressed as nurses and soldiers.  We had a visit from the school nurse, she came to talk to us about medicine safety.  We also made lamps, learned how to bandage a head injury and role-played some situations from the Crimean War and had a quiz. We had so much fun. Take a look at our photos.

Some of us have recently become published authors on the Pobble Website.  Here are some links to our writing. Why not leave us a comment? – Ruby’s Room on the Broom story. – Lillyanne’s Room on the Broom story. – Olivia’s Room on the Broom story.

In Maths for the next few weeks we will be learning lots about money.  Finding totals, making change and looking at different combinations of coins.

This is a good website to look at if you want to practise at home:

In English we are learning about Information Texts. We have been focusing on the text Surprising Sharks by Nicola Davies and James Croft.
